Los Tres Caballos
Out doing some yard work at the casa today and I couldn't believe how warm it was. For it to be in the mid 70's and approaching 85 by Friday, February is looking to bring spring a bit early to the Valley of the Sun. I am hoping for some more cold weather because I haven't been able to get up to the high country to photograph some snowy landscapes. Thinking about snow reminded me of some images I still had not posted from the winter wonderland in Nogales this New Year's Day.
Spending Christmas in southern Arizona I was able to take some time exploring the area as I always do but this year was really special. Awaking New Years Day to a very cold downpour of rain that amazingly turned into huge snowflakes that just didn't stop. Rushing out with my camera only hoping to get some nice snow photos of the Arizona / Mexico mountains I was greeted by these three beautiful horses running and playing in the snow. I really didn't anticipate getting many good photos of them but they were really friendly and almost seemed to like having their photos taken. They came right up to me and stayed until my camera and I were frozen and soaked.
Hopefully I will get some more snow time in either Flagstaff or Payson. Until then, enjoy some photos from the white Christmas holiday just north of the border.
