The Ultimate Green Smoothie

Well, in addition to taking photos I love to make smoothies. I figured why not take a photo of the pineapple I'm going to use to make my next smoothie and then let you in on the recipe. Do you like Pina Coladas? Well take away the alcohol and add some healthy ingredients and I have a great detox drink full of tasty goodness. We drink this in the morning since is is packed with loads of vitamins from the pineapple, spinach and lime. Add the detoxing effect from the cucumber and you're in business. Cucumbers are great because they contain phytonutrients. They provide anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-cancer effects. Awesome right? Yes, healthy green smoothies can taste delicious and be good for you as well. One added benefit is it also reduces cravings for sweets throughout the day. Not bad huh? Here are the ingredients below...

  • 1/2 cup sliced cucumber
  • 1 cup sliced pineapple
  • 1 handful of spinach
  • 1/2 lime / JUICE ONLY - use lime press to extract the juice
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 2 -4 ice cubes
