Rustic, Vintage & Very Cool... Lowell, Arizona

Heading southeast just past Tombstone is the eclectic and interesting Bisbee, Arizona. Most people visit the bars, galleries, hotels and cafes but if you head just past the tourist area of Bisbee you will run into the town of Lowell. If you don't keep an eye out, you will easily miss it because the best part is only one street. That street is Erie St. I you ever wondered what it might be like to jump in Marty McFly's Delorean, and head back to the future, this place has got you covered. It is like you were zapped to an old movie set but this place actually exists.

Lowell, Arizona was settled in 1880 and is considered by most of the local residents to be more of a place name than an actual community. The Lavender Pit Mine consumed most of the town back in the 1950's leaving only Erie St., the Evergreen Cemetery, and Lowell Middle School. While I visited there, I did see a small market, bar and theater that look to still be in operation.
